Program Overview
The MediaCity 4 program outlined the structure of the international conference held May 3–5, 2013 at the University at Buffalo, The State University of New York. It organized sessions, panels, and parallel tracks around pluralities, globalities, and the emergent relations between urbanity and digital media.
Tracks addressed non-Western, post-Capitalist, and turbulent cities, with emphasis on cities hosting civic turbulence or crossing international boundaries.

Program tracks framed the conference around situated technologies and the lived conditions of MediaCities. Sessions moved between theoretical inquiry, case studies, and design speculation.
- Reflexive Architecture Machines — sessions exploring computational and situated design practices.
- Architecture and Situated Technologies Symposium — peer exchange on emerging research directions.
- Hida Workshop — a focused workshop strand within the program.
- Urbanity and Digital Media — panels on emergent relations across global cities.
